Atellica HEMA 570 and 580 Analyzers

Two new high-volume hematology analyzers

The Atellica® HEMA 570 and 580 Analyzers are designed to meet the hematology testing needs of today’s high-volume labs. Sharing fast throughput and an identical footprint, both instruments are intended to pair with advanced informatics and automation solutions to suit diverse workflow requirements and drive efficiencies across labs and networks. Each delivers a range of analytical capabilities, including an 8-part white blood cell differential, with the Atellica HEMA 580 Analyzer offering an expanded menu complete with optical platelet and reticulocyte testing.

Adaptive, scalable solutions

Flexible automation connectivity is expected to support both dedicated hematology and multidisciplinary integration.

Data-driven performance

Full integration with Atellica Diagnostics IT aims to standardize and optimize result, process, and inventory management at the lab or network level.

Extended parameters

Flow cytometry integrates optical methodologies to measure up to 55 CBC, differential, and reticulocyte parameters.

Sensibly designed to easily meet demanding turnaround times

  • Provides fast throughput of up to 120 tests/hour (CBC/DIFF).
  • Automated rack processing enables walkaway operations  (120-tube initial load), with additional loading options for STAT/specialty tubes.
  • Daily maintenance is automated for minimal hands-on time.
  • Onboard reagents use a simple load-and-go system for quick replacement.

The Atellica HEMA Analyzers use data to drive performance with support from our wide range of digital solutions, including the open and scalable Atellica Diagnostics IT.

  • Atellica Data Manager enables standardized testing protocols and result management with customizable autoverification rules and integrated quality control functionality.
  • Atellica Process Manager helps labs standardize and optimize processes through built-in analytics.
  • Atellica Inventory Manager automates control of reagents and consumables across multiple locations.
  • Smart Remote Services (SRS) can provide fast error identification, remote repair and software updates, and preventive maintenance.

By integrating hematology into a multidisciplinary digital ecosystem, you can consolidate most testing operations found across the lab or network with a single IT platform.

Extended parameters and enhanced technologies for accurate detection of abnormalities

  • Broad parameter menu includes novel immature white blood cell analysis (granulocytes/monocytes/lymphocytes) and reflexive platelet measurements (PLTo).
  • 360-degree mixing rotates tubes 40 times for a more homogeneous sample that supports accurate first-pass results.
  • Double hydrodynamic sequential system (flow cytometry) uses optical extinction technology to help reduce interference risk and repeat testing.
  • Integrated rules-based intelligence—powered by Atellica Data Manager—standardizes result interpretations with customized flagging and autoverification.

Automated slide making and staining capabilities support diverse needs

  • 120 slides/hour throughput with a 160-slide initial-load capacity and continuous loading
  • User-defined/adjustable smearing profiles that use 75 µL of sample
  • Three slide staining protocols: Wright-Giemsa, Modified Wright-Giemsa, May-Grünwald Giemsa
  • 2D barcode (CellaVision®-compatible) or three-line printing for identification

CellaVision is a registered trademark of CellaVision AB.

Flexible workcell integration aims to minimize labor and footprint

For labs aiming to increase throughput and reduce hands-on time in a dedicated hematology solution, Siemens Healthineers plans to offer the Atellica HEMA Workcell. Our intent is to enable the integration of multiple Atellica HEMA 570 and 580 Analyzers to scale testing capacity in a system that’s adaptable to your laboratory’s layout.

Design goals:

  • Combine up to six analyzers to achieve throughput of up to  720 tests/hour.
  • Offer linear, L-, U-, and island-shaped (back-to-back) configurations to accommodate space constraints.
  • Automatically balance workloads between analyzers via the Atellica HEMA Transport’s bidirectional conveyor and intelligent software capabilities.
  • Complete all required hematology tests, reflexes, and reruns without manually handling sample racks.
